Enodia anthedon borealis (Northen Pearly Eye)
The Wing is the Thing.
The great thing for a neophyte Butterfly enthusiast is that there will always new ones to find and photograph. These are some new shots to add to my small but growing collection.
While shooting Butterflies today I ran into one of the authors of "Alberta Butterflies" which is the authoritative guide for Alberta. He encouraged me to start learning the Latin genera. He said that common names for Butterflies vary so much from region to region, that they can be very confusing. Another author of this guide helped me identify recent shots via email. I am grateful to them for helping me off to a good start.
I'll never loose my passion for bird photography, but I am really enjoying Butterflies and Dragonflies.
