Stumpstabber, Megarhyssa nortoni Kings Canyon National Park, California

This is called a Stumpstabber! What a cool name for a cool creature. This is a female wasp as you can tell by the long ovipositor that it uses to lay its eggs with. An interesting fact, is that no wasps with long ovipositors can sting. I of course don't think I'm going to try to find out wether or not that is true!
