Gas Station 1939
In Southern California during the summer of 1939, a stop for gas meant "full service". Dad watching while the attendant checks the oil and water. As I recall 69 years later, this car never needed oil between 2.000-mile changes. (I handled all the service for our two family cars during my high school years.)
Does anyone else remember "full Service" where they cleaned the windshield, checked the oil and water, and sometimes tire pressure, including the spare? That's one of the few things I miss about the present days.
