BENNI'S NEW PILLOW
As you can see, Benni has made good use of our new foster boy, Mel. Benni is the consummate snuggler and has never been picky about with whom he cuddles.
Mel is a very good boy. He is a little under a year old. His mother is a golden retriever and his father is a black lab/german shepard mix. He is super sweet and is good with the boys.
Mellow's in foster care because he has many fears and panics when he comes face to face with the things that scare him. He is terrified of loud noises. He backs away if you approach him with anything large in your hand, like a broom or even a dish. He backs away if you approach him quickly.
I took Mel outside when all the kids were sleigh riding on Tuesday and he was panic stricken. He tried to run away when he was approached and was obviously overwhelmed. This adorable boy was probably left in the backyard of his previous home and never exposed to anything. So now our job is to get this big, scared, teddy bear ready to take on the world. He needs a big dose of confidence. This may take a little while.
