If they're available, where can the design files be found for this?

MUCH better than the stock-photo-of-keyboards-with-dollar-bills-cheesily-photoshopped-in version. I mean, better from a graphic design standpoint as well as a story logic standpoint.

Andrew, fancy meeting you here! I'm not sure if it will print on a Makerbot but would love it if you tried. The STL is here: www.shapeways.com/model/76118/cory_doctorow_makers_cover_...

Excellent! I expect the overhangs will cause grief as there's no support material, and it looks to be rather large for Makerboting at 1:1 scale.

Worst-case, it shouldn't be too difficult to come up with an OpenSCAD wrapper to slice'n'dice the source STL into something that works. Definite mash-up potential too. ;-)

I was so sure this was a 3D rendering.
