Standing around the broad gauge turntable at Dynon in March 2000, T388 stands off against rebuilds P22 and R711 as all three await their next turn on the main line.

P22, rebuilt from first series T Class T328, later found itself in Freight Australia colours where (branding changes aside) it remains to this day. R711 was heavily rebuilt during the late 90s by West Coast Railway, with improvements such as dual Lempor exhausts, a power reverser, and conversion to oil firing. Some of these modifications were later reversed when ownership of the locomotive passed to Steamrail Victoria following the collapse of West Coast Railway in the mid 2000s.
