This is a MODIS overlay on a Google Earth map that shows fire detections over time. The view is west across the mountains behind Montecito, toward the Jesusita Fire perimeter. It's becoming clear that the fire is on its way out. All the detections near Santa Barbara are more than a day old, and those near Montecito are more than twelve hours old. The only relatively fresh detections are up on the ridge. Here is a map that shows all three fires, plus other useful stuff.
