airship disaster along I-77...

So, show of hands, how many of us have seen the signs along I-77 in Ohio marking the spot of the Shenandoah disaster... and wondered...

There I was, looking at a sign which pointed to "airship crash sites 1 and 2". Of course that road T-ed into another about a half mile away and there were no more signs. And both directions of that road dead ended into I-77. So... the mystery continues... what did they do with the crash sites? Interesting cover up...unless I just missed both sites somehow because I was in a hurry and three redneck guys and their lady were giving me the evil eye like locals often do whenever a person drives down "their" road... I hope they get that old pick-up fixed though.

That was after the sheep. Oh yeah- the sheep. A person resembling a stereotype of Appalachia was grazing sheep along the road (st rt 340) on the road side of the fence. Not inside the fence... the fence was doing a good job of keeping the sheep along the road...

So I stopped- thinking it would help him because the sheep decided to start jumping the fence back into the forest and off the road. A few of them headed towards me... So I stood in the road (how hard is it to herd sheep? They teach dogs (and that one piglet) to herd sheep...

But Ichabod (the sheepherder) screamed at me from 100 yards away. Problem there being Ichabod had a serious speech problem. After he waved his arms for awhile, I figured out- he meant to herd the sheep down the road, past me, and back around the corner (down two state highways) to get back to the fence he must have left open.

The sheep were staying clear of Ichabod... all he had to do was walk towards them and they fled.

I could have sworn several of the sheep saw him and started running backward though....hmmm...
