Higgins Beach - Maine
"Higgins Beach is a quaint oceanfront village in Scarborough that draws visitors and locals to its more than half a mile of white sand beach near the mouth of the Spurwink River. Sunbathers will enjoy spreading out a blanket, relaxing to the sounds of the sea and swimming in the relatively warm water here. Bodysurfers and board surfers can take to waves for an exciting ride on the breakers. Kayakers can play in the ocean surf and paddle up the scenic river just around the bend from the beach. Surfcasting for striped bass in season is also a popular activity. "

Host Peter and Linda took me twice times to Higgins Beach. It is a ritual for Peter to leave the highway and scoot down to drive the beach front. Beach images are from a couple drive-byes and a low tide beach walk - to the remains of the 1897 boat wreck still in the sand.
