Autumn Clouds

Barre, Vermont

While visiting a 600 foot deep granite quarry, the game of "hide and seek" continued with the sun. Imagine my frustration with so many bright fall colors, and so little sunlight!

Monica is correct... (see below), it's just me looking for that "perfect" shot! LOL

Nice! Actually you are wrong to be dissapointed, the sun washes the colors out . Best fall colors are when it is cloudy and even rainy... enjoy!! Plus you got some beautiful clouds there.

What a great state! You got that right George.... we will be going back sometime in the near future!

Thanks Mike... and a bit of light!

Monica - You are correct on the full sunshine observation... no doubt! My frustration was too many rainy days, and poor light when I need more.... but rain can pop the colors with the right bet!

Thanks for your input... always a pleasure!

I agree with Monica! Too much reflection when the sun is out. I've taken my best fall shots on dreary days. Isn't it wonderful that it can be like that for a photographer? It keeps people wondering why we seldom seem discouraged.

This is a lovely shot, Paul. Your colors may have been dimmed a bit by the dark, but all in all, a beautiful, moody, typically autumn scene. Well done!

Thanks Monica.... and for the input! Most of the better autumn shots are with filtered sunlight, and after the rain! Time of day also has an interesting impact on the results. We love the challenge... right?

Incredible colors! I love the strong, a bit dark colors - and this photo is not too dark at all!

Sandy - Now that I have come back to look at it again.... I agree with you! The color does pop enough to pull it off.... the dark moody clouds help too! Thanks!
