A Virtual Start to the 2020-21 School Year
The 2020-21 school year began virtually for the vast majority of students at Des Moines Public Schools, a safety measure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many teachers across the district still reported to school to use their classrooms as the site for the virtual lessons being taught. How long virtual learning remains at DMPS is in doubt after a court rejected the school district's request for an injunction in order to make a local decision about how best to keep students and staff safe as the school year begins.
