Cultural Photography Exhibit
Sociology students from Hoover, Lincoln and Roosevelt high schools recently completed a lesson in culture, using photography to provide their personal perspective on what defines a culture. Now the results of their work are on exhibit. Thanks to support from CultureALL, students had an opportunity to learn about cultures around the world before looking more closely at how culture applies to their classmates, families and themselves. The exhibit opened on November 29 with an event at the Iowa Hall of Pride, where State Representative (and former School Board member) Ako Abdul-Samad emceed an event where several students spoke about the project. The exhibit will be on display at the Iowa Hall of Pride through December 14 before moving to other locations around the community.
