Hoover Leaders Visit Moore for Universal Children's Day
For Universal Children’s Day, student leaders from Hoover High School spent part of the last school day before Thanksgiving break engaging with younger students. Members of the Hoover Difference Makers - including many members of the school's Student Council and National Honor Society - first went to the Science Center of Iowa’s preschool before visiting their neighbors at Moore Elementary School. There the “big Huskies” read stories, did a holiday art project, and taught dance moves to the “future Huskies.” The United Nations established Universal Children’s Day in 1954. It is celebrated on November 20th each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.
