This is a great picture! If you would like to share it with another online community, we would love to have it on the Encyclopedia of Life, an online curation. You can join and post to the Encyclopedia of Life Images group on here. We’ll upload it to the online site from there (www.eol.org). Great to post location if you know it!

Hi Mandy, I have already added quite a few images to EOL already, and will include this one as well. I have actually made use of EOL's API to make a stab at autogenerating guidebooks from public data at dkeats.com/species. I have SA birds and SA mammals complete, all it takes is a list of species to generate the interface automatically. Right now, for EOL I just use the sound files for birds, and I will load a couple of hundred birdsongs to EOL shortly from a colleague who has spent a lifetime recording them. So please do feel free to add any of my pics to EOL if I have not done it myself. Most people don't get the fact that data are more valuable if shared to non-human access. I am glad EOL does get it.
    Regards
    Derek

I think this was at the Johannesburg Zoo. I don't normally take zoo photos, almost all of my photos are from the wild, but the Joburg Zoo is quite nice for a zoo, so I allowed a couple of photos from there to creep in. Is that what you wanted to know?
