Went out for a drive through Westport, MA last Saturday, while my daughter was at a class for the morning, theoretically to buy apples for our weekend canning project. It had been a while since I had been into Westport, and I had more than enough time to visit the orchard, so I decided to drive up Main Road to Westport Point. It was a foggy morning, and as I came around a bend and saw this barn lurking in the fog, I just had to stop and take a few pictures. Only had my iPhone 3G with me, and didn't realize as I was shooting that I wasn't even taking full-rez shots with its already-spec-challenged camera, but I got one I was happy with.
Right after I took this, something spooked a pretty substantial flock of seagulls that all ended up flying off from the fenced-in area on the right. One of them is just barely visible in the shot here. Unfortunately, none of the shots I took with the birds in it really worked very well.
I've also been spending time doing some HDR processing (I'll post some of those shots later in the week), and decided to bring this shot into Photomatix and do some tone mapping on it. Also did a little noise smoothing and applied the vignette in Aperture. I think the end result does a pretty good job of conveying the mood of the morning.
