2008 Olympic Opening Ceremony on a Giant LCD TV Time Lapse
On the night of the Olympic opening ceremony I was living in Sanya, Hainan, China, but my TV was broken. Luckily there was a giant LCD screen on a post right around the corner from my house, so that's where I watched it (with about 1000 other people). I took my camera(s) and made a time lapse of the first moments of the opening ceremony, and also took a few videos with my other camera, so this is some clips from the opening ceremony as seen by people in Sanya watching it on a giant LCD. The music is a song called "hidden ninja vs. Fort Minor - Remember The Name (Ol' Skool Dn'B Remix)" by hidden_ninja, it's apparently free to use on a cc license and that's me conforming to the weird rules of flickr where you have to use music with a creative commons license by artists with underscores in their names as if it makes any difference to anybody what song I use in my little video. Cripes. It's a good song though, I like it, check it out or download it at ccmixter.org/files/hidden_ninja/5659
This is the first video I've posted on Flickr so Merry Christmas to y'all, unless you're Sharon Stone...if you're Sharon Stone I hope you have a terrible Christmas.
Oh BTW the time lapse was shot on my Nikon D60 and the videos are from a Canon S3 IS. The photos at the very beginning and end are from a Canon IXUS 860 IS (SD 870 IS) I think. I just can't remember, I've had so many IXUS cameras now.
You can watch other videos I put together while I was in China at www.youtube.com/user/majun26
You can see an alternate version of this same video that is slightly longer and has different music in "high definition" at www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEECvncpdCk&feature=channel_page
Remember to click the little "watch in HD" thingie in the bottom right corner.
WARNING: don't watch the HD version on youtube if you don't want to hear the F-word. Actually it also has the S-word and the N-word and the M-F-word in it SO.....You've been fairly warned.
More videos are on the way soon
