Heh, seconded nanobiker. Maybe the Winter Carnival should take note...

      ModernDayGilligan: Hah, thanks.

alcarilinque: I think this fire has more visitors than the Winter Carnival.

A few of us were standing on the Stone Arch Bridge wondering what all the smoke over there was coming from. Now I know.

The exact same thing happened here in Toronto yesterday. One block of old buildings downtown went up in flames. It's around -10 C or lower so everything that was sprayed with water ended up covered in ice. Shame about the buildings, they were from 1880 or something, but it was neat.

it's really sad, not only for the businesses and residents, but for the history that was lost. There's been a number of strange fires happening lately. I saw some similar photos of the Toronto fire - it was on a much bigger scale.
