Banh Mi Thit

Toni and I shared this for lunch. It was the first time we had this Vietnamese sandwich. The bun was toasted to crunchy perfection. It was a bargain at only $2.50.

I forget the menu #'s now of course, but Yummy Yummy has great Spring Rolls with dipping sauce, they're made perfectly. Also, the cold vermicelli "salad" with whatever type of grilled meats/shrimp/fish you like (and fresh veggies/herbs).. plus you can order the one which comes with a chopped up crispy egg roll. Then there is the Pho,, whichever kind you prefer. It's not the absolute best Pho I've ever had, but it's pretty good. (Clement St Vietnamese restaurants have some pretty good Pho). They also have great curries, BBQ meat dishes, crab.. I've never had a bad meal, quite affordable for regular dining, and it's great service. Oh, and great rice! Also the N Judah metro train stops one block up and you walk down to Irving from Judah (1015 Irving St, San Francisco 94122 At 11th Ave), so if you're just visiting and don't have a car and you're staying downtown-- just take the metro train. Then hop back on and take the train back down to the beach and walk over to Beach Chalet for dessert and coffee and watch the sunset. Excellent!

I always say if you don't know if you want to eat it..through some cilantro on it, the more the better.

I don't eat hoofed meat, but I'd be REALLY tempted.....

crime scene - I love cilantro. I suppose you could have this sandwich without the meat. It would still be good because the bread is yummy.
