Boa Nova lighthouse

Matosinhos, Portugal

Built in 1926, at 46 metres high, the Boa Nova lighthouse is 57 metres above sea level and one of the tallest in Portugal. Electrified in 1950 and connected to the national grid in 1964, the lighthouse then ran other beacons, making it the first remote control network in Portugal.
