Welcome to Wales

I never liked this image when i first took a bracketed exposure of +2,0,-2 to make a HDR image of the sun rising, taken on the topside of the Heads of the Valley Road in Wales.

Since downloading the lightroom update and learning that lightroom could process 32bit tiff files i revisited the 3 raw files to see what i could do. I opened the 3 raw files into merge to HDR in photoshop and didn't tonemap the image but saved it back to lightroom. Here the magic happens because you get 10 stops of exposure instead of 4 but the file was 204mb.

I could use all the sliders in lightroom including the grad brush to darken the sky using 10 stops if i wish. All non destructive. I don't like the image any more than i did but i must say that it looks a lot better than processing in photomatrix or HDR pro. I shall try this method again on an image i like, just have a limited set of images on me when at work :)
