I took a short trip to Austin yesterday to attend a few seminars of the 2009 How Design Conference. Getting there so late, my agency put us up for the night.
Not wanting to miss out on my Saturday morning ride, I opted to bring my bike to Austin with me and do a lap around Town Lake, near my hotel.
In retrospect, this wasn't a very good idea. I had no idea that Town Lake had become such a runner's destination. Back when I lived in Austin, it was about 50/50 cyclists and runners. I felt completely out of place and must have said, "on your left" about 4,000 times.
I asked a person manning a Lance Armstrong table if there was some sort of charity run going on and she actually said that this croud was abnormally less than usual.
Town Lake is beautiful, but no longer a good place for me to ride.
This, btw, is my ecovelo inspired shot.
