55/365 Bali Long peppercorns

"Bali Long peppercorns look like tiny cattails [they're about 1 inch long] and once ground, roasted or simply snapped in two, they release an incredible floral bouquet. The scent of these peppers is earthy and complex, with sweet hints of cardamom and nutmeg, and a slight fruitiness."

I crush these using a mortar and pestle, and use them any way I'd use black peppercorns; they are tastiest on steak, with goat cheese, and in quiches. Yum! :-)
