EVER WONDER HOW THE GODFATHER COULD GET EVEN BETTER?
So today I was planning to launch a weekly strip, cleverly entitled DHARBIN! But I'm still working on my new site (although the blog portion is running more or less fine now), and decided I wanted to get one more strip in the can before I start. I'd like to stick to a weekly schedule for as long as I can before I retreat to the regular excuses and recriminations, which are always followed by longer and longer gaps, and then... a book deal!
However, dear Flickr friends, I couldn't resist sharing this tidbit with you, as I just spent a very pleasant couple of hours coloring it with my fancy new Wacom tablet. This is a panel from the first strip (due this Monday, December 8!), which is an "improvement" upon one of my favorite movies of all time. What does a movie starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, and directed by Francis Ford Coppola lack?
Well it rhymes with "Flarbin." The results are even less spectacular than you would think, BUT it was a lot of fun to swipe a bunch of my favorite scenes from the movie and think about the composition.
