Getting UK-funded food vouchers to Syrian refugees in Jordan

UK-funded food vouchers (worth £15 per person per month) are distributed to Syrian refugees in Amman, Jordan, through the World Food Programme.

Over 500,000 Syrian refugees are staying in urban host communities in Jordan - not in refugee camps. But they're not allowed to work, so many are reliant on humanitarian support to cover even basic essentials such as food. The vouchers can be exchanged at local shops.

Half of the refugees from Syria are under 18 years of age. The UK is helping WFP to feed Syrian children and their families right across the region. This will reach over 230,000 Syrian children in the region every month for six months.
