The lifeline of cyclone shelters
Even the local cyclone shelter is surrounded by water. Scores of them have been built by the Government of Bangladesh in coastal areas.
They provide a lifeline to villagers – and their livestock, which shelter in the open area on the ground floor during cyclones.
