A Lebanese teeacher lends a hand to Syrian children in Zaatari, Jordan
Lebanese teacher, Nathalie Jaber, helps a Syrian student in a school in the Zaatari refugee camp, Jordan. Nathalie is one of a group of Lebanese, British and Jordanian teachers who visited the camp just ahead of the 4th anniversary of the start of the conflict in Syria, as part of an initiative run by the British Council with funding from the Department for International Development.
The British Council's Connecting Classrooms scheme is helping British schools develop parnterships with Jordanian and Lebanese schools, to help provide support on a range of issues such as specially tailored teaching and learning resources to show schoolchildren in the UK the impact of the Syria crisis; Syrian, Lebanese and British children sharing their experiences through Skype and letter writing; and
opportunities for teachers to share ideas, lesson plans and to work on joint projects together.
