Reversing the trend of FGM/C

In Burkina Faso, more than 75% of girls and women have been cut. But work to reverse this trend is proving successful – community meetings, peer education and a law banning the practice have helped to reduce the numbers of girls getting cut by 31%.


The UK is working to reduce the practice by 30% in at least 10 countries in Africa in the next 5 years. Find out more about our work:
