Inside The Belle Isle Aquarium

Originally designed by Albert Kahn ( the "Architect of Detroit" ) , the Belle Isle Aquarium opened in 1904. It had been the oldest continually open Aquarium until it closed due to lack of funds in 2005. During Prohibition times, there was a secret speakeasy in the basement here.
