Abandoned Ernie D's Campus Ballroom in Detroit ( Version 2 )

For some reason this has been one of my favorite pictures since I first shot it 3 years ago. The colors in the original were very washed out, so I've worked this new version up.

Located at 4120 Fenkell , just off of Livernois in Detroit. Thanks to Mikem at detroityes.com for the address and the fact that this building was built between 1926 and 1928. I read it was a popular meeting place during World War 2 and for veterans to gather afterwards. Funkadelic played a gig here in 1970. It is located near the U of D Mercy - McNichols Campus. I am still gathering additional information. Ernie D ( Frantic Ernie Durham ) - a popular Radio Disc Jockey here in Detroit, used to run events here and had a record store on the first floor.
