Section 199 ( Former Michigan Theater in Detroit )

( EXPLORED!!! ) A shot inside the historic Michigan Theater, which is now a parking garage. It was built in 1926 by architects Rapp & Rapp and once held 4050 people, second only to the Fox Theater in attendance in our city. It closed as a theater in 1970 and became a live music venue, closing again in 1976. At first I was sad about the condition of this building. I did some research and frankly this building would have been demolished had it not been made into a parking garage. Is it better to be a diamond that doesn't shine so brightly but has a practical purpose, or one that is part of an empty field....

Really well composed Derek and I agree, at least it's being used for something, unlike so many other buildings downtown. Detroit definitely does not need any more vacant lots.

Do you mean that the ceiling is still like that even though it is used for parking?
