Barney the Barn Owl

    Newer Older

Here is a new addition to my Lego Bird Project. Barney the Barn Owl.

He's the most challenging build so far but I am very happy with the outcome.

I think you'll agree he is instantly recognisable as a Barn Owl.

I am looking for 10,000 supporters in the hope that LEGO will produce these Birds as official sets, so if you haven't supported yet and you would like to own your favourite bird/s please follow the link below and take a couple of minutes to register and support my project.

A big thank you to all that have supported so far but there is still a very long way to go.

If you haven't seen the rest of my birds yet you can see them here www.flickr.com/photos/detomaso/sets/72157629962167813/

If you would like to Blog Barney please do but I would like you to include the link to this page lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/16897 and to persuade people to support.

    Many Thanks

    Tom

Really nice curves, Tom! This isn't 1:1 scale, right? Nice feet too! In the video, where you actually building this or did you simply take it apart and put it back together? Nice to see your cars...did you take them out for the video (I think I heard you say that you store them in boxes to prevent them from getting dusty). :)

No he's not 1:1 scale and it's hard to tell how big he is compared to the real thing as I never had the pleasure to hold a real one. He's not too far off I don't think. He was not finished when the news crew came round to film so he was a WIP. Yes I thought the cars had to be shown off. so came out of the boxes, The cars get stored in the back of the transporters which are packed away in a rather large box. Glad you like him LB!

I love it, but the head looks a little too "LEGO square-ish." Other then that, this is magnificent!

I think his head is a tad to big... Nice job!

My kid yelled 'Barn Owl' the moment she saw him, so yes, absolutely bang on! We love him. What do you use for talons?

I think he head looks a bit big.The body is really nice though.Maybe Lego could make a Lego bird park and hire you to build the birds ;)

Amazing! I've seen lots of Lego in my life, since my brother is really dedicated to those plastic bricks....and I can honestly say: the things you build are awesome!

Thanks Marjon! Your brother is indeed very dedicated to those little plastic bricks, his work is incredible, an inspiration to many a LEGO enthusiast, including me. Keep up the great work with your quilting, I really like it!
