Pyramid Bush, Teabush-Melochia tomentosa

August 21, 2012

Pyramid Bush, Teabush (Melochia tomentosa)-This Texas native is a lovely shrub that can reach up to 4 feet tall and wide. Clusters of stunning magenta flowers appear spring through fall. Pyramid Bush does best if planted in full to part sunlight and slightly fertile soils. Try using this evergreen as a background plant for other summer flowering perennials such as Chocolate Flower (Berlandiera lyrata).
