Beaked Yucca-Yucca rostrata

May 29, 2012

Beaked Yucca (Yucca rostrata)-A yucca native to the Chihuahuan Desert and found along rocky hills and slopes between 1000 to 4500 feet. The trunk can reach up to 12 feet tall and as it ages may produce 2-5 heads. Like most yuccas, they add a sculptural dimension to desert gardens and the spectacular flowering stalk is an added feature. Look for Beaked Yucca blooming in the Berlin Agave Yucca Forest.
