It's just won't go on!

    Newer Older

I have a recurring nightmare. The situation changes slightly but the theme is always the same.

I am in a house and I awake from my sleep. I have the distinct impression that there is something else around, in the dark... lurking... So I go to investigate and I reach for the switch, except no lights go on... I flick again and again and then... It charges...and I wake up...Usually in a cold sweat.

I rarely see "it"... the frighting part is the non-working light switch.

I wasn't sure how to depict the "dark"

Usually I see a spider just as a I switch it off. Switch it on again and the flipping thing has disappeared! :-) I like the red theme of this shot.

Thanks everyone... this was quite the improvised shot, I shot my flash through a red plastic container and bounced the light off the bathroom mirror in the dark. Seems to have worked out ok.

Excellent concept well done. That photo really nails your nightmare. MM

[On the other hand, those of us with experience in a red-light film darkroom may cringe at the prospect of someone turning the overhead lights ON while we are processing images in open trays. In that context, this image gives me the heebie-jeebies.]

That's true, I haven't done film processing in a long time, but I do remember that fear...
