Event to honour five projects short listed for 2015 Civil Service Excellence and Innovation Awards
Minister Fitzgerald acknowledged the great work and outstanding achievements of the five teams from the Justice and Equality sector who were nominated for Civil Service Excellence and Innovation Awards at an event held in the Atrium on Tuesday 12th of January to honour their achievements.
At the ceremony, Noel Waters, our Acting Secretary General, also acknowledged the teams’ dedication and hard work. Each team member received a certificate commemorating their achievement.
The event gave staff the chance to interact informally with the teams to discuss, share and celebrate some of the learnings.
The five teams from the Justice and Equality sector who were nominated for awards were:
Modernising Irish Family Law to support social change 2015* (Shortlisted in the category of Excellence in Policy): Conan McKenna, Carol Baxter, Dara Breathnach and Michael Holohan
Enhancing the security of the Common Travel Area - British Irish Visa Scheme (Shortlisted in the category of Excellence in Innovation) : Michael Kirrane, Dale Sunderland, Finnuala McEvoy, Angela Collins, Anne Barry, David Noctor and Noel Cahill.
Establishing a Mediation Initiative for families (Shortlisted in the category of Excellence in Customer Service): Polly Phillimore, Sheila Healy and Tom Ward and colleagues.
Enhancing ex-prisoner resettlement into communities – the Community Return Programme* (Shortlisted in the category of Excellence in Innovation) : Brian Dack, Justin McCarthy and June Kelly
ICT Recycling provided by the Irish Prison Service to Government Departments (Shortlisted in the category of Excellence in Skills Development): Dave Noone, Kevin Noone, Shay Fennell and Gavin Foley.
