2014 Mayor's Design Awards
A great city is not just a collection of streets, buildings and neighborhoods. It is also a collection of places and experiences that help create and foster community. Since 2005, the Mayor’s Design Awards have honored bold, creative projects that add to Denver’s rich architectural history, enhance the public realm and invite us all to see and experience this city we call home in new and imaginative ways.

This year’s fifteen winners range in size and scope, from gritty public art in an emerging neighborhood to respectful preservation and adaptive reuse of historic structures to tactical urbanism in one of our busiest public spaces to new buildings that will serve as community gathering places. Each brings something special to Denver’s unique visual fabric and speaks to our collective commitment to building healthy, sustainable communities.

General Selection Criteria
•Transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary
•Honors people, the public realm, ingenuity
•Is engaging, sustainable, creative, bold
