Wasted lives

More than 300.000 french and german soldiers lost their lives during the battle of Verdun from February 21st to December 20th 1916. The Cemetary of Douaumont is the final resting place for 15.000 french soldiers in front of the "Ossuaire de Douaumont" (Background). The Ossuaire covers the bones of 130.000 not identified french and german soldiers.
