I read a French food blog - - which is a great mix of social observation, food history and recipes. And in English too! In a recent post the author talked about a food article she was commissioned to write for Régal Magazine. She mentioned how she styled her food for the photos. Reading her entry reminded me of the unusual shallots (see other photos from Taj food store, Brighton) I recently bought in their self-tie bundle. Here they are just before I used them in a salad. This is exactly how the shallots were sold. No plastic wrap, no plastic container - no nothing - just the shallots self-tied. Exactly as it should be!
