Always a Woman – SCC 2011
Spending multiple consecutive days as Denise moves my needle from empty to full so these conferences have become one of my primary spiritual refilling stations.
Though the true highlight of these emersions in femme is my time with my sisters (and now brother transmen) there is a yearning to further empower my independence and self-reliance. So, this is a look into my exploration of my private social skills.
It feels safe to have a sister nearby to lean on and turn to for assurance when facing unfamiliar circumstances and public domains however training my autonomy is a necessary plunge I must actively choose to take to continue building a well rounded mature person in Denise.
Also, this plunge helps to wash away reoccurring false assumptions about the true nature of acceptance. It helps me to embrace more than just the people who share my passion for femininity but to embrace those in the world who would be embraced after experiencing time with a beautiful person.
It all a part of being a missionary: embracing, educating and edifying. In the hearts of people I’ve met I would want them to think of me “I’ve met Denise and she is Always a Woman to me”.
