Pigeons and Power Lines
Papercutting
January 5 - February 24, 2019

Pigeons and Powerlines features hand cut paper works inspired entirely from photographs taken in my hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and from my recent travels to Tokyo, Japan. Each of my cuts take between 80-100 hours to complete due to their high level of detail. As I view this particular collection, I can’t help but feel that Philly and Tokyo have so little in common and yet they do belong together.

I currently live in Baltimore, Maryland where the back alley powerlines look like Japan but there are pigeons, not crows. A perfect balance. As you view this collection it is my hope that you will find connections not only between the pieces, but with your own life; that you will find the commonality of the human experience in these disparate scenes.
