ANA Soldiers Firing Weapons

Members of the 3/215 Kandak of the Afghan National Army carry out weapons training on the M-16 and General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) before heading off to the ranges for confirmation shoots.

The Afghan National Army are based within camp Tombestone on the outer perimeter of Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan. They were being mentored by 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, who were employed as the Brigade Advisory Group (BAG).

All training for the ANA phase 1 is conducted by their own Sergeants and officers, with the BAG giving advice where applicable.
