4 SCOTS in Afghanistan Supporting Armed Forces Day

4th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland (4 SCOTS) Battalion Reconnaissance platoon posted to Patrol Base Sterga 2,showing their support for Armed Forces Day.

On 10 May 2014, the final British base outside of Camp Bastion was closed by soldiers of 4 SCOTS Bn. The final week saw 4 SCOTS, and attached units such as engineers, stripping the location down to it's bare necessities before the gates were closed for the last time.

Following their departure from PB Sterga 2, soldiers of 4 SCOTS Bn will return to camp Bastion before they continue their journey home to the UK and Germany. Camp Bastion remains the only location occupied by British troops in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
