Leaver's Ball - Oxford 1993
Digging out some old photographs for Tabby's fortieth birthday tomorrow. I took this one with my trusty Olympus Trip. Just spent about an hour getting rid of the scratches and trying to clone out shadows and other imperfections. I've always loved this photograph, despite its flaws. This was Tabby's last day in Oxford. We'd arrived to take her home, and found her very hung over and too groggy to argue. I made her put on her rented costume, complete with snood, and sat her in the window seat for a final shot. Very Mariana in the Moated Grange. "He cometh not," she said.
Re her apparently missing left arm. She does indeed have two. It was curved across her stomach I guess, and the wide brown cuff got lost in the body of the dress. I almost didn't post this because of the 'missing' arm, but I couldn't resist in the end.
