Made for HASBRO to celebrate Candy Land's 60th birthday this year. Lombard street will be transformed into the world's largest candy land game ending in cake! Two feet tall.......

    wowza deb - is teh gumball machine real? i have to say the whole thing is incredible and if you tell me that you made the gumball machine then i am saving for a plane ticket for lessons.

    thanks so much everybody! This cake has had it's 15 minutes of fame, that's for sure. Today it was in the LA Times, SF Chronicle and all the TV news shows.
    You can save your adoration, Lisa, the gumball globe is not edible, though it probably would have been easier to make it than all the searching I had to do to find a glass sphere just the right size. I scaled it all out first and then I was tasked with finding all the right sizes, finding giant gumballs was another quest.
    Toni if you do a search for it you can find video of the event and see the kids beside the cake. My BF was truly surprised how big it was, you can't appreciate the scope unless you see it in context.
    Now, since i spent sooooo much time on this cake, I'm playing serious catch up on all my other orders. It's going to be a long day tomorrow!!!!!
