Wasp is the common name to designate Himenopterans (wasps) of the families Vespidae, Pompilidae or Sphecidae.


There are several species of wasp, the most notorious being the hunter-wasp or wasp-horse, which is also known as hunter-of-spiders, caçununguçu, hornet, among others. These wasp are known by the habit of hunting spiders that serve as food for their larvae. The adults feed on nectar from the case of plants and sting painfully.


The wasp (wasps) make their nests of solitary ways, but most hunting for caterpillars and leads within their nests for use as food for larvae. It is a solitary wasp, because, in most cases, have color black with yellow spots and vary from 10 to 25 mm in length.
