Henri Racine, RIP, with Willy

I took this photo by chance in Belleville, Paris last May. I first thought the man didn't know I was taking his picture. After a moment, it was clear that he did. And he was posing for me with his dog, Willy.

I was recently contacted by Mr. Raynald Fernandes, a funeral director in Paris. He had just arranged the funeral for the man in the photo, Henri Racine. Mr. Fernandes asked for a copy of the picture to give to the man's daughter, Evelyne Racine. Evelyne believed this be the last photo taken of Mr. Racine. I happily sent it.

Apparently, the veterinarian who cares for Willy spotted this photo on Flickr, and pointed it out to the daughter, the daughter told the funeral director about it, and the funeral director then wrote me.
