pioneer cemetery (pioneer, wa)
Quiet acre-and-a-half at the end of a cul-de-sac watched over by a herd of large trees, including a couple of redwoods. It’s pleasant, secluded, and at one time had a view over the East Fork Lewis River (Washington is another state that ran out of names, when it came to rivers) that’s now occluded by the aforementioned trees. Despite its reserved charm. it gets little use and a 2004 stone there is an anomaly.

As usual, nothing in Washington is findable. Take the 501/Ridgefield exit from I-5 a few miles north of Vancouver. Take that east and turn south at the intersection which immediately appears. Take the next road east, NE 259th St. Turn north onto NE 29th Ave., when it shows up in a mile. Take it to the end (keep driving, you'll get there) and voila!
