Crested Tit backlit against cool background
What attracted me to this image was the blue/green background that was achieved by shooting into the shadow of the Caledonian pine forest with the greens produced by the light hitting the vibrant green pine needles.
I spent a very enjoyable day with these stunning birds in temperatures of -7 and below but it was worth it to see them in different lighting conditions. This was something that I had looked forward to all winter when I would make the 60 mile round trip to witness them is some realy poor lighting conditions although always good to see them and help them through the winter. This made it all the more rewarding and enjoyable to see them now in some great light.
