Gull Poses Perfectly
Whenever I get new equipment, I purposely shoot gulls to get familiar with the new autofocus system. I recommend it to anyone, trying to shoot birds in flight, whether newbie or old hand. Gull are relatively slow fliers and plentiful in many locations. Even after 34,000 shots on my new Sony, I find this exercise useful.
Usually I don't process my gull images, but occasionally one, like this ring-billed gull, will pose perfectly and perfect light and it becomes a "keeper."
