Selkirk Common Riding - 1952

This is from the 1950's, judging by the clothing. This is an annual event taking place in the Scottish border town of Selkirk. Briefly, it involves riders following the old boundaries of the town, with a large celebration afterwards.

This is scanned and partially restored from an original print (photographer unknown)

As another point of interest, especially to me, I am the young boy leaning against the telegraph pole and standing on the wall (just right of center). The lady and gentleman leaning over the railing to my left, are my aunt and grandfather.
